Settings reference

Every section of the Settings area, what it controls, and where to find it.

Settings is where you configure your organization’s workspace: repositories, agent behavior, keys, and integrations. Open Settings from the workspace navigation — the sidebar groups everything under five headings, with a few areas (Members, Sync, Connections) living on their own pages reached from the same list.

Section details

Your account and Security

Your account shows your profile as it comes from your sign-in method — nothing to configure. Security is where you enroll two-factor authentication (authenticator app plus backup codes) and review active sessions. For Administrators it also holds the organization security policy: restricting invitations to approved email domains, network/IP allowlisting, whether doc content may be sent to AI providers, and audit retention. Spaces, Docs repositories, and Commit tracking

Spaces groups documentation repositories and Salesforce connections into named scopes — see Spaces and repos. Docs repositories selects which repositories from your connected git provider hold documentation — pick one or several. Commit tracking picks the repo and branch pairs LivingContext follows: tracked branches feed the commit timeline and trigger automatic doc generation when code changes. See Commits.

API references

Generate OpenAPI specifications from your connected Salesforce org: the org-wide data API, one spec per inbound Apex REST endpoint, and one per outbound Named Credential. Specs also generate automatically after each metadata sync — see API reference.

Documentation eligibility (coverage scope)

Choose which Salesforce metadata types count toward your documentation coverage score. Unchecked types are still synced and searchable — they just stop counting as “undocumented”, so the score reflects metadata your team actually owns instead of managed packages you can’t document.

Documentation style

Set the writing style every agent follows: voice and tone, a terminology table, formatting conventions, and free-form guidance — optionally layered over a recognized base standard. A Preview shows the effective style, and History tracks revisions. Only a saved style applies. See Templates and style.

Templates

Define your documentation type system: each type carries a page structure, a writing guide, and a gold-standard example. When agents draft a doc of a given type, they follow the matching template and imitate its exemplar, so generated docs look like your best hand-written ones. A Prompt preview shows exactly what the AI receives.

Doc suggestions (Coverage Auditor)

Configure the agent that proposes missing docs: turn it on or off, set the frequency (daily, weekly, monthly, or manual), choose which doc types it may suggest, and cap the number of suggestions per run. A Run now button triggers an immediate pass. Suggestions land in the Inbox — nothing is published without your review.

AI skills

Create reusable AI actions for the doc editor: give each an emoji, a name, a prompt, and a behavior — edit (rewrites the selection as tracked changes) or chat (answers in the panel). Run them from the editor toolbar, the inline AI bar, or by mentioning the skill in agent chat.

Browser extension and Smart blur

Browser extension creates the keys that link the capture extension to your organization — captures land as a change request in one of your docs repositories. Smart blur selects the categories the extension redacts at capture time: email, phone numbers, SSN, credit card, IP address, and MAC address. Redaction is destructive — blurred content never reaches your docs — and passwords are always masked regardless of these settings. See Capture and Privacy and redaction.

MCP server

Create MCP keys and copy ready-made client configuration snippets for Claude Code, Cursor, and Cline, so AI coding tools can read and update your docs through the Model Context Protocol. Keys are shown once and stored as hashes. See MCP server.

AI credentials and Models

By default the documentation agent runs on LivingContext’s shared AI key. AI credentials lets you add your organization’s own Anthropic API key — usage then bills to your Anthropic account, and only the last four characters are ever shown again. Models lists the AI models available to your workspace; enable the ones you want and set the default.

Standalone admin pages

A few administrative areas open as their own pages from the Settings sidebar:

What you can change depends on your role. Organization-wide settings are managed by Administrators; see Roles and permissions.
