Install the extension
Install LivingContext from the Chrome Web Store. If your organization distributes the extension directly, you may instead receive a zip file with install instructions from your admin. Once installed, pin the extension to your toolbar so the side panel is always one click away.Connect to your organization
1
Open the extension
Click the LivingContext icon to open the side panel.
2
Click Connect extension
This opens your organization’s connect page at
<your-org>.livingcontext.ai/connect-extension. Sign in if you aren’t already.3
Authorize
Click Authorize extension. An organization-scoped key is handed directly to the extension in the background — it is never displayed, and there is nothing to copy.
The key is scoped to your membership. If you leave the organization, the extension’s key stops working automatically.
First-run onboarding
The first time you open the extension, a short wizard walks you through setup:
You can revisit any of these choices later in the extension’s settings. Smart blur in particular is worth reviewing — see Privacy and redaction.
Managing extension keys
The one-click connect flow mints a key for you behind the scenes. Settings → Browser extension is the manual alternative and the management surface:- Create a named key (optionally with an expiry) and paste it into the extension yourself — useful for locked-down environments.
- Revoke any key at any time — the extension it belongs to disconnects immediately.
Troubleshooting
- The connect page says I’m not signed in — sign in to your organization at
<your-org>.livingcontext.aifirst, then click Connect extension again. - The extension shows as disconnected — your key may have been revoked, or you may have left the organization. Reconnect from the side panel.
- Nothing happens when I click Authorize — make sure the extension is installed and enabled in Chrome, then reload the connect page.
