Turn analytics on
Analytics charts over a database that mirrors your Salesforce records (your Salesforce backup database), connected once by an administrator:1
Connect a source
Until a source is linked, the Analytics page says “Analytics is off” and points you to Connections, where the Analytics section links your database.

Charts go live
Once connected, the Analytics page and the workspace agent’s chart tools are enabled. If you connect more than one source, a source picker appears in the page header.
Each organization connects its own source — one org can never see another’s data or results. Filters and charts read your records; nothing here ever writes to Salesforce.
Create charts by asking
You don’t build charts with a builder — you ask for them. On Home, ask the workspace agent in plain language:- “Chart new Opportunities by month this year”
- “Build a dashboard of pipeline by stage and owner”
Open any of them from the left rail — the URL captures which one you’re viewing, so you can share the link with teammates.
Filter without leaving the page
Every dashboard gets a filter bar derived from its charts’ own columns — category selects, date ranges, and text search — and filters apply instantly to what’s on screen.Filters narrow what you see on the page; they never change the underlying question or your Salesforce data.
What you can chart
Analytics reads the records behind your Salesforce org — Accounts, Opportunities, Cases, your custom objects — and renders aggregates and trends across a full chart catalog:Trends and comparisons
Bar, row, line, area, and combo charts for breakdowns and change over time.
Distributions
Pie, scatter and bubble, funnel, waterfall, and sankey charts.
Single numbers
Scalar, trend (vs. the previous period), gauge, and progress indicators.
