The LivingContext browser extension turns work you already do into documentation. Click through a process once, and the extension records every step — with annotated screenshots, optional video, and typing clips — then publishes the whole thing into your docs repository as a change request. No screenshots to take, no steps to write down, no separate tool to paste things into.

Capture

Record clicks, text entry, and navigation as steps with screenshots taken at the moment of action.

Edit

Refine descriptions, reorder steps, and annotate screenshots with boxes, arrows, labels, and redaction.

Publish

One click writes an AI-composed guide into your docs repo as a reviewable change request.

Guide Me

Replay any published guide directly on the live page with a spotlight on each element.
Beyond capture, the side panel also includes Ask docs — a chat mode that answers questions grounded in your organization’s documentation, with citations that link straight to the source page.

How a capture flows

Record

Click Start Recording in the side panel and work through the process normally. Steps stream into the panel as you go.

Review

Edit step text, adjust the click highlight, annotate or redact screenshots, and trim anything you don’t need.

Publish

AI writes the title, per-step descriptions, and an overview, then commits everything to a change-request branch in your docs repo.

Merge

Review the change request in LivingContext, refine it like any other doc, and merge. The guide is now live — and replayable with Guide Me.

Built for real applications

The extension is designed for the messy reality of enterprise web apps:
  • Works across iframes and shadow DOM, including Salesforce Classic and Lightning.
  • Aggregates typing into one step per field, so a form fill is one clean step — not forty keystrokes.
  • Records session video of the browser tab alongside the steps, and generates short GIF clips for typing steps automatically.
  • Survives page reloads and new tabs, including while paused.

Privacy by default

Passwords are always masked, smart blur removes sensitive data before screenshots are ever taken, and captures stay in your browser until you choose to publish. See Privacy and redaction for the full model.
The extension requires Google Chrome 118 or later.
